Modifying a Version 2 Connector

Occasionally it may be necessary to modify an existing Connector's installation to allow for updates to the port number, the driver file or the client certificate.

To make a change to any of these you need to run the Installer executable for the selected connector (requires admin rights on the server) and choose "Modify" from the list of options:

The installation folder shows where the connector is currently installed and where the log files can be found. If required you can update this directory. If no change is required you can leave the installation folder as is, and click next.

The Configure Connector screen will display the port number that is currently in use, which can be overridden if required, if no change is required then the port number can be left unchanged.

If the port number is required to be changed the fixed range of port numbers 1024-65535 can be used but port numbers already in use can not be reused

For MEASUREMENT and PHD Connectors only you also have the option to update the Driver file, this entry only needs to be populated if you are changing the Driver File, if it is not changing then it should be left blank. Click Next to proceed to the next sreen.

Next, you will choose to supply the location of a new Keystore file and the password which are generated when creating the client certificate. If no change is required to the Keystore then you can leave the boxes empty. Click Next to proceed to the Installation screen.

You are now ready to complete the modifications to the connector:

Once the Connector has been modified the Windows service will be automatically restarted and you will be able to log back into the Connector UI.

All existing configuration and certificates are retained as part of the modification of the Connector.
